About Ramesh Mohan Library

Our Mission

The main objective of the Library is to collect, organize and disseminate information of books, journals, theses and other related documents relevant to the academic and research needs of the University.

History

Established in 1958 as an independent unit to provide Bibliographical, Documentation and Information support to the Teaching and Research Programmes of the University. Named after Prof. Ramesh Mohan, former Director of the Institute.

Eligibility for Membership

Primary Members

  • Faculty Members: All teaching staff of EFLU
  • Students: Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
  • Non-teaching Staff: Administrative and support staff
  • Retired Staff: Former employees of the university

External Research Scholars

Research Scholars from other universities are permitted to use library facilities with proper documentation:

  • Letter from Supervisor
  • Identity card from respective university
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Advance email to Registrar/Dean at: librarycirculationsection@efluniversity.ac.in

Issue Process

  1. Borrowers must be present with identity card at circulation desk
  2. Sign book card in book pocket
  3. Library staff issues books by stamping due date
  4. Books returned to borrower

Important Rules

  • Books must be brought physically for returns and renewals
  • No telephone/verbal/written renewals accepted
  • Borrower fully responsible for all materials in their account
  • No sub-lending allowed
  • Documents may be recalled before due date if required by library
  • Priority given to member who recommended new arrivals
  • Inform library of address changes
  • Long leave (3+ months): return all documents before leaving

Non-Circulating Materials

  • Current issues and back volumes of journals not issued
  • Reference books (library use only)
  • Theses collection (reference within library only)

Fines & Penalties

Overdue Books

Fine charged at Rs. 1/- per day per book

Overdue fines must be paid at the circulation desk before borrowing new books.

Lost or Damaged Books

If a book or material is lost, misplaced, or damaged beyond repair:

  • Option 1: Replace with the latest edition of the same book
  • Option 2: Pay double the cost of the book

Members are responsible for maintaining the condition of borrowed materials

General Rules

  • No defacing, marking, cutting, mutilating or damaging library resources
  • Lost/damaged books must be reported immediately
  • Library deposit receipts (original) must be preserved for course refund

Clearance Certificate

Students/staff leaving the University must obtain "No Dues" clearance certificate from Librarian. All borrowed materials must be returned and fines cleared.
